Colour My Park
The Brief
Clair Slade had the original idea for Colour My Park in 2014 to encourage her children and others to visit the amazing parks and open spaces in Cambridgeshire in a really fun way. In 2022, Huntingdon District Council provided the funding to execute this project, which aimed to get children out and about and interested in their local parks and green spaces. The free leaflets have been distributed in community spaces and shops in and around St Ives, St Neots, Huntingdon and Little Paxton.
The Approach
Richard Slade created the original logo and styling for the leaflets. My role in the project was to create the four maps of St Ives, St Neots, Huntingdon and Little Paxton highlighting green spaces and illustrating local flora and fauna. Dr Jade Gunnell, a naturalist and conservationist, was commissioned to do site visits to identify the species that children could spot and learn about which were then included on the map. Check out the Colour My Park website for a list of stockists.
